Denne art hører naturligt til i Bangladesh og det syd-vestlige Kina. Den tilhører den såkaldte Aroid familie, der er en gruppe af utroligt spændende og flotte planter, karakteriske med deres store blomster og vækst, der kun består af et enkelt stort blad. Der ud over er mange af dem kendte for deres blomster, der lugter af råddent kød. Årsagen menes at være for at tiltrække fluer, der står for bestøvningen. Denne art skulle dog have mindre lugtende blomster end mange af de andre arter. Denne art anses for værende en af de letteste og samtidig en af de flotteste med dets lyserøde blomster.
Pasning
Som tommelfingerregl skal potten være 2,5 gange brede end diameteren på knolden. Knolde skal lægges dybt i potten da rødderne bryder ud foroven af knolden og herfra vokser op af og ud af. Jorden skal være en god rig jord gerne iblandet lidt sand. Nederst i potten forslåes det at lægge lecakugler eller andet til dræn. Der skal vandes kontinuerligt og generelt kræver planten høj luftfugtighed. Jorden må ikke tørre ud under væksten. Når bladet begynder at visne ned er dvalen ved at indtræde. Bladen skal blive på til det selv falder af. Under dvalen skal planten/knolden opbevares varmt og mere tørt og helst ikke fjernes fra potten. Jorden må dog stadig ikke tørre ud. Det bedste tidspunkt for eventuel ompotning er lige inden væksten starter, og her vil nydannede knolde også kunne tages fra.
Den lyserøde blomst vil oftest blive dannet som det første i den nye sæson, og oftest vil den komme alene uden noget blad. Der kan i sjældne tilfælde komme mere end en blomst på en gang. Bladet vil så blive dannet efterfølgende når blomsten er visnet. Planten blomstrer først når den er temmelig stor og så skal man være opmærksom på at blomsten vil lugte lidt, men ikke så fælt som mange af de andre Amorphophallus arter! I naturen fungerer det som tiltrækning for fluer, der til gengæld bestøver blomsten. Der vil endda dannes varme for at efterligne et fordærvet dyr endnu mere. Blomsten holder kun nogle enkelte dage inden den visner ned og endnu kortere tid, hvis den bestøves.

Denne art kan formeres ved sideskud (aflæggere) og frø.
Erhvervelse
Denne art er efterhånden til at få fat på de fleste steder. Den er nem at formere både ved frø og så danner den en del side-knolde ligesom Amorphophallus rivieri. Så priserne er også nogenlunde.
