Denne art stammer fra Borneo og er tæt beslægtet med den populære Nepenthes maxima. Dette er en klatrende art, der dermed skal have noget at klynge sig til som den vokser. Kanderne er aflange grønne med rødt til lilla mønster og kan blive helt op til 25 cm høje hos store eksemplarer. Der findes en del varianter af denne art, der ofte er navngivet efter den lokalitet de stammer fra. Det er oftest størrelsen og farverne af kanderne, der varierer imellem de forskellige varianter.
