Denne art stammer ligesom mange andre subtropiske arter fra Syd Afrika. Dens blade kan minde lidt om Drosera capensis, men bladstænglen er længere end selve bladet. Denne art bliver også noget mindre og ikke så kompakt som Drosera capensis. Planten danner en fin rosette, der med tiden kan blive omkring 10 cm i diameter. Planten vil også efterhånden danne en lille stamme. Blomsterne dannes for enden af lange stængler. Stærkere lys kan give en flot rødlig farve på hele planten. Denne art er en af de letteste at holde og kan tolerere en bred vifte af forhold.
En rigtig god begynder plante, der ikke bliver helt så stor som Drosera capensis.
