Dette er den tropiske variant af arten. Der findes også en tempereret form, som kan holdes udendørs året rundt. Disse planter stammer fra Amerika og har ikke et hvilestadie. Danner fine rosetter, der ved højere lysintensitet kan få en rødlig farve. De hvide blomster dannes for enden af lange stængler. Dette er en nem art, der sagtens kan holdes i vindueskarmen året rundt. Bare man husker den højere vandstand. Den vil også hurtigt danne små sideskud.

En god begynder plante, der dog kræver en høj vandstand.

En variant fra Venezuela. Denne variant er lidt mindre og mere kompakt end "cuba".
