Denne art blev fundet i 1939 på Mount Auyan-Tepui i Venezuela. Der findes en del varianter af denne art og nogle kolonier af arten findes også i det noget varmere lavland. Tragtene er grønne med et rødligt skær i stærkt lys. Denne art anses for at være den mindste af arterne, omend der findes nogle varianter, der kan blive op til 30 cm høje.

Dette er en af de lettere arter at holde og er en god begynder Heliamphora-art, der egner sig godt til terrariet.
