Denne art stammer fra Borneo, Sulawesien og Ny Guinea. Det er en meget variabel art både i udseende og i udbredelse, og den kan dermed findes både som regulær højlandsart og i knap så store højder, tangerende til lavland. Dette er værd at være opmærksom på i forhold til de forhold man selv kan tilbyde. Nogle arter kan tåle temperaturer nær frysepunktet. De nedre kander er flottere farvet end de øvre og er omkring 15 cm store. Farverne er oftest grøn baggrund med røde prikker, og så et stærkt farvet peristom i mørkerød. Låget er stort og i farverne grøn og rød. Låget har endvidere et karakteristisk lille udhæng bagerst, der kan minde om en lille tand. De øvre kander og mere blege i farverne og oftest mere aflange.
Dette er en af de nemmeste arter at holde, er samtidig flot og kan klare lave temperaturer. En oplagt art til vindueskarmen, drivhuset eller vinterstuen.
