Dette er en af de mest bizarre af de tropiske Utricularia. Den er endemisk for Syd Amerika, hvor den kan findes i Brasilien, Guyana og Venezuela. Her kan den leve både terrestrisk og akvatisk i bladskederne hos bromeliaer. Bladene er stive og tåreformede og blomsterne store og lyserøde. Selv frøene er lidt bizarre, da det grønne lille embryo er tydelig synligt igennem den gennemsigtige hinde. Frøet skal straks sås i vand og vil indenfor meget kort tid spirre som små stjerneformede nye planter. Denne art vil sende lange stolons ud i søgen efter nye voksesteder og fra disse kan nye planter vokse op. Denne art er desværre ikke så nem at have med at gøre og det kan være svært at finde frem til den helt rigtige mængde vand, medie med mere. Lykkedes det dog først er det noget af et syn.
