Alocasia originates from Southeast Asia, where they most often grow on the forest floor in tropical and subtropical forests. They enjoy high humidity, warmth, and constantly moist soil that does not dry out. This soil mix contains extra vermiculite, which specifically helps to retain moisture in the soil, while at the same time creating drainage so the roots can breathe.

Tips for caring for Alocasia
Alocasia prefers moist soil that does not dry out. They enjoy bright light, but cannot tolerate direct sunlight. The most important thing is that conditions do not fluctuate, but remain more or less constant year-round. Unlike other aroids, such as Pothos, Philodendrons, and Monstera, Alocasia does not need a moss pole to grow up.
