Hoya plants have started to become very popular as both houseplants and terrarium plants. Hoya lacunosa is part of that trend. Hoya lacunosa originates from India and is a small, compact climbing plant. It produces small, white, fragrant flowers.
- This is a variety of Hoya lacunosa, called Hoya lacunosa "Royal Flush," which develops red, almost bronze-colored leaves.
It should not be exposed to direct sunlight, but it is otherwise hardy and can tolerate many different conditions. As a houseplant, it does well in hanging pots or growing up small trellises. In a terrarium, it can be used either as a climber or a hanging plant. It enjoys the higher humidity of a terrarium, but must not be kept too wet.
The soil should be airy and well-draining. We recommend our special Hoya soil mix.
