Bumblebee

Bring a lively, buzzing summer atmosphere into your living room with this beautiful, majestic bumblebee.

There are over 250 species of bumblebees, all belonging to the genus Bombus. With their thick, round bodies, bumblebees are fascinating insects to observe as they fly from flower to flower in search of nectar. When they find a nectar-rich flower, they unfold their small proboscis and dip it into the nectar. The bumblebee is an excellent pollinator of all our flowers and a creature worth protecting.

We highly recommend reading the books by Dave Goulson, which beautifully portray the importance of bumblebees and other insects, so that even those not interested in nature will stop and take notice. The book titles are: A Sting in the Tale, A Buzz in the Meadow, The Garden Jungle: Or Gardening to Save the Planet, and Silent Earth: Averting the Insect Apocalypse.
