This pre-mixed orchid soil is specially formulated to meet the unique needs of your orchids. By nature, orchids require slightly different conditions than typical houseplants. In the wild, they most often grow as epiphytes (without soil). Therefore, they need a soil that is airy and spacious.

This soil mix contains orchid bark, which provides air and space. Sphagnum moss provides extra moisture for the roots, and the activated charcoal prevents the accumulation of unwanted toxins.

Tip: This pre-mixed soil is also great for terrariums where you want to grow orchids.

Tips for orchid care
There are many different types of orchids, so these are some general tips. Most orchids prefer indirect sunlight. Direct sun can burn and damage the leaves. Most orchids also prefer to be watered with lime-free water. You can use rainwater, for example. It is also important to use fertilizer specifically for orchids and to reduce watering and fertilizing during the winter period.

Repotting orchids?

• Gently remove the plant from its pot
• Remove as much of the old soil as possible. You can hold the roots under lukewarm water to wash away the remaining soil
  
• Remove dead leaves and roots
• Add a little of the new orchid soil to the bottom of the pot. Place the plant and fill in more soil along the sides until the pot is full. The point where the roots meet the plant should be just covered
• Gently tap the pot so the soil settles into place
• Finally, water the soil thoroughly
