This Amorphophallus species originates from western and central Thailand. The stem is silvery with black spots. The tubers are elongated and the flowers are white with dark marbling.

When the leaf wilts and dies back, the tuber can be dug up and kept dry until new growth can be seen.

Seed germination

The seeds arrive already moist. Sow the seeds directly into damp seed starting soil or cactus soil. Alternatively, place the seeds between damp paper towels, which are then placed in a sealed bag. Place in a bright, warm location.

Childcare

Plant in a pot with good potting soil. Increase the pot size each year as the tuber grows. When the leaf dies back, the tuber can be dug up and kept dry until new growth is visible. It should also be kept dry if you choose to leave the tuber in the pot.
